What We Do

Emergency Electrician, Done Properly

Some electrical problems can wait for a weekday appointment. These cannot, and for them the phone is answered around the clock, Monday through Saturday, from East Moriches: fifteen minutes to Westhampton, half an hour to Hampton Bays, under forty to Southampton.

Call (631) 394-6097

Open breaker panels with circuits traced and labelled
New meter pan and service disconnect on a cedar-shingle house
Temporary electrical service and meter on a new-construction lot

When to call us now

  • You smell burning plastic or see scorch marks at an outlet, switch or the panel.
  • A breaker trips and will not reset, or the panel is warm to the touch.
  • Part of the house lost power and PSEG Long Island says the problem is on your side of the meter.
  • Water got into an outlet, a fixture or the panel.
  • A storm brought the service cable down or pulled the mast off the house.

If there are flames or you see sparking you cannot stop, leave the house and call 911 first; call us after.

What we do when we arrive

Find the fault, make it safe, and get the power back on where it is safe to do so. If a permanent repair needs parts or a permit (a new panel, a new service), you get a written price for that before we leave, and the temporary fix holds until then.

Hours

Open 24 hours Monday through Saturday for emergencies. On Sunday the phone is still answered; we will talk you through making it safe, and if it cannot wait, we come. Scheduled work and estimates happen in normal daytime hours.

Why East West Express Electric

A licensed electrician (Suffolk County #70709) with a crew behind him, so an emergency call does not mean the day's other jobs stop. Fully insured. You get the same written-quote treatment at 11pm as at 11am.

Common Questions

What should I do before you arrive?

If you smell burning or see scorching, switch off the breaker for that circuit if you can reach it safely. If there are flames, leave and call 911 first. For a downed wire, stay clear and call PSEG Long Island.

Do you charge more at night?

We tell you what the call will cost on the phone, before anyone drives out, day or night.

Do you come out on Sunday?

The phone is answered and we will walk you through it. If it is unsafe to wait, yes, we come.
